One death, six points of view, Esther’s Style is a great grotesque political-comedy created by Pedro Levati.
Filmed in Argentina, Esther’s Style is a six-episode web series. Each episode shows the view of a different character from the same event: the death of Esther, the owner of a beauty salon.
Esther’s Style mixes grotesque characters and situations with elements of the detective genre.
What inspired your series?
At first, the idea was to make a web series where all episodes had the same ending but from different character’s points of view. Then we chose a crime genre and decided to have the whole story to take place in a salon. Finally, we created the characters and the screenplay began to take shape.
How do you finance your series?
We won the Bianal de Arte Joven de Buenos Aires which gave us the founds to make it.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome in production?
We had to arrange all shooting in five days because of Actors guild and technicians union conditions. It was a huge challenge for our budget.
How do you reach your audience?
We are very active in social networks and winning the Bienal de Buenos Aires also helped with the promotion of our series.
Is it an ongoing project? If so, can you give us some clues about what comes next?
The first season is finished, we are now producing the season two.
