We have a jam-packed program this year; our spotlight on Melbourne Event will screen 10 local series at Loop Bar on Thursday 30 June.
We have 55 Official Selection series from 15 countries that will be screened at Deakin Edge, Federation Square over the weekend. Q&As and discussion panels will feature creators and crews, and industry – including ABC iview, Screen Australia and Stan.
Opening night will feature a keynote address from writer/actor John Cabrera (H+: The Digital Series, Gilmore Girls) and the premiere of our very own web series, Melbourne WebFest Presents: 2046.
Our live pitching competition with ABC iview, which has a $5,000 cash prize, will be held during the festival. Wildcard entries are now open, enter your wildcard pitch for an original web series idea via Twitter using #MWFpitchiview.
It must be 50 words or less under the theme ‘Anytime, Anywhere.’ Check in with the front desk at 2pm on Saturday at Deakin Edge, Federation Square with your name, twitter handle and a valid ticket and you will have the chance to pitch your idea live on stage to our expert panel and audience.
And, our professional development day features a series of masterclasses at La Trobe University on Collins Street.
