Changes to the MWF Organisation

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][image_with_animation image_url=”4387″ alignment=”center” animation=”Fade In” img_link_target=”_self”][vc_column_text]Merry Christmas from the new board! From left to right: senior AV coordinator Richard Khouri, AV Manager Alexander Hipwell, senior PR coordinator Wendy Trieu, Festival Director Steinar Ellingsen and senior Communications coordinator Lauren Colosimo. (General Manager Simone Flanagan was a victim of the flu when this photo was taken.)

As the the festival keeps growing, so do the responsibilities of the organisation. Therefore we’ve made some important changes to our board. Before we introduce some new faces we must take opportunity to farewell Georgia Kavanagh Dando, who has decided to step down from her role as Communications Manager. Georgia has been a part of the MWF team since the start. She was part of the inaugural MWF internship in 2013, continued as a volunteer in 2014 and became a board member at the start of this year. We are thankful for all the work Georgia has done for us over the years and we’re incredibly sad to see her go — but we wish her all the best in her future endeavours.

Simone Flanagan is not leaving, but she will be moving into a more senior role on the board going forward, as MWF’s General Manager.

Finally, we are thrilled to introduce three new faces on the board. Effective immediately, Wendy Trieu is our senior PR coordinator, Richard Khouri is our senior AV coordinator and Lauren Colosimo is our senior Communications coordinator. These are all familiar names for those who know our organisation, as they have interned and volunteered with us in the past. They’ve been great assets for MWF for years already, and we are very excited that they will be continuing to work with us and having accepted greater responsibility going forward.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column][divider line_type=”Full Width Line”][/vc_column][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Eureka! seeking submissions for new kids’ TV series

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Victorian screen content creators are invited to submit applications to create a “proof of concept” for a new short-form children’s live-action TV series.
Eureka! is a joint initiative of Film Victoria, the ABC and the Australian Children’s Television Foundation. The program seeks to stimulate more local live-action (non- animation) narrative children’s content that can screen on multiple platforms.
Victorian teams with distinctive concepts that have the potential to become a series and are aimed at children aged 8-12 years will receive up to $30,000 to create a 3-5 minute proof of concept. The concepts will screen on ABC iview, ABC3’s YouTube Channel and, possibly, ABC3.
Applications for Eureka close on 4 January, 2016. Successful projects will be announced in March 2016. For more information, including eligibility guidelines, visit: www.film.vic.gov.au/funding/eureka.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][divider line_type=”Full Width Line”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Alumni of MWF?
