Would you be making an episode in the future that goes into the backstory of the title and drink of the same name, the classic Tom Collins?
Yes, we have finished writing the next season of five episodes. One of those is the Tom Collins, in which we explain the meaning of the name of the series.
How do you finance your series?
The team is composed of professional workers, for the first series, we all have decided that everyone could help to create the series by working for free. The rest of the other things (set design, posters, furnishing etc.) were paid for by me and Alberto.
Have you ever created or thought about creating your own signature cocktail? What would it be?
Our project is to recount stories and funny anecdotes about the most important cocktail in history. So for creating the screenplays we always select the drinks that are full of history and with interesting facts that can be narrated.
How did you go about researching the creators of the drinks and were any particularly hard to find?
We researched information in some books (like Jerry Thomas, the Savoy cocktail book, Dale Degroff, the history Behins Negrini drink etc) and some specialised websites like liquor.com and even Wikipedia.
What was the most difficult challenge you had to overcome in production, and how did you go about it?
The most difficult challenge for us was the pre-production period; writing the screenplays, the search for the scenography objects and props related to the period narrated in every episode and the search for the costumes.
Why should people watch your series?
In my opinion the people should watch this series because we have tried to recount something interesting about the world of mixology, not only referring to the professional and cocktail enthusiasts, but also at the common people who doesn’t know much about this world.
In what ways do you utilise social media to further your brand?
We use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to connect and share our product to many people as possible by sharing the videos, but we also share some backstage pictures and funny facts about what we tell in our series.
