Horror Hotel is a sci-fi/fantasy/thriller web series by American creator, Ricky Hess.
Horror Hotel tells many different stories of occupants of an old decrepit motor court motel. Guests at the hotel include androids, aliens, ghosts, gangsters, psychotics killers and more.
The web series was inspired by The Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock and old-school sci-fi series. Any shows that were heavy on good storytelling and interesting twists.

Why should people watch your series?
The stories are independent of each other, so there is something for everyone from sci-fi to fantasy to suspense. You can jump in at any time and enjoy a good story with some pretty cool effects.
What do you want people to take away from your series?
We want people to feel like they have been entertained with a good tale of intrigue and not just some good special effects. We really want people to get invested in each story and recognize a good plot and story line.
How do you finance your series?
We are self-financed.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome in production?
Streamlining our stories to fit into our time frame. Being an anthology series, we have to finish a story completely and not carry it over like in a serial. The writing has to be carefully planned for a complete story arch.
How do you reach your audience?
We are so excited to announce our recent distribution on streaming media giants, Hulu and AT&T U-verse! You can also watch us on YouTube, Vimeo and Dailymotion, our website and other upcoming platforms very soon.
Is it an ongoing project?
If so, can you give us some clues about what comes next? We are now in the second season of Horror Hotel and have completed the first two episodes of second season. Our plans are to continue with the series as resources allow and interests remains.
Trivia: please tell us a quirky and/or interesting fact about yourself or team that’s unrelated to your web series.
Ricky, Debbie and Al Hess, the producers of Horror Hotel are family members who have enjoyed making up good scary tales for years. Even back to when son, Ricky, was a cub scout and Al, his dad, made up creepy campfire tales that delighted mom, Debbie, as well.
Why make a web series?
The internet is quickly becoming the medium of choice for viewing entertainment because it is available 24 hours a day on so many devices. People no longer want to wait to see their favourite shows. The tide is turning and having a streaming media series will just make it more accessible to a wider audience. In addition, web series can be any length and that helps on production costs and time to produce episodes.
Is there anything in particular you’d like us to add about you or your series?
Our series is produced as a collaboration of artists ranging from industry professionals to film students who work side by side to produce a series they can be proud of and learn from. Our main goal is simply to entertain our audience and have fun doing so!
